Help Send a Public Message

Celebrating the anniversary of Roe v. Wade is important and should remind everyone that the main focus of this decision is and should be, women, their lives and health. Justice Blackmun called it, “a step that had to be taken as we go down the road toward the full emancipation of women.”  The Supreme Court noted originally that “the ability of women to participate equally in the economic and social life of the Nation has been facilitated by their ability to control their reproductive lives.

MCCC activists have long felt strongly about countering the annual Right to Life (RTL) signature pages in the Northwest Herald which lists the names of anti-choice county residents who oppose a woman’s reproductive rights and appears near the Roe v. Wade anniversary.

The MCCC project of “Sending a Message” will give you an opportunity to show that the majority of the country and our county are pro-choice and appreciate the significance of Roe v. Wade to women’s lives. The MCCC designed ad (not lists of names) will appear in the Northwest Herald on January 22.

Please respond by sending a donation of $10, $20, $50, $100 or any amount to MCCC, Box 16, Woodstock, IL 60098.  And pass the word to family and friends!

It is always good to have a response to the anti choice crowd, our symbolism here is a quite voice to a screaming wrong, being perpetrated against women. We will not go silently into the long good night of fear and oppression. We have been fighting too long, to hard to miss the opportunity to keep the message alive, as strong as possible and as viable as we can make it.
